We are a support group of stroke survivors in the Seattle, Washington area. We also have members recovering from other brain injuries. Our members range in age from their 20s to their 70s. We have a wealth of experience, contacts, information, and library materials we are happy to share. We meet monthly to hear presentations, share advice, and renew friendships. We also have summer picnics and a December Holiday Party. There is no fee to join and you may come when you like.

Gratitude is a sort of laughter of the heart that comes about after some surprising kindness. Last weekend, my heart was full of laughter. First they treated me to an afternoon spa treatment and lunch.

Wednesday, April 2, 2008. My Prince Shrek and the babies. Then they decided to teach me to drive the wheelchair. This was quite an experience as due to my left neglect I kept bumping into the wall and running over peoples toes. And the squeal they made was like I was killing them. My wheelchair just wanted to have some toes.
For someone who has survived a stroke, regular healthy exercise is vitally important! Stroke survivors often become physically inactive, depressed, and progressively weaker, which invites recurring strokes and costly illness. But with regular exercise, stroke survivors can live a normal lifespan and a happier and productive life, with fewer acute stroke-related incidents. Live your BEST POSSIBLE LIFE!
